THE DEPARTMENT: The Department of Accounting and Finance offers undergraduate and graduate coursework in different areas of business including: Accounting, Finance, Real Estate and Taxation. The College offers various undergraduate and graduate programs leading to bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration with 14 different options and master’s degrees (MBA, MS and MA), all of which are fully accredited by WASC and AACSB.
DUTIES OF THE POSITION: The Department of Accounting and Finance in the College of Business and Economics (CBE) seeks a dynamic, energetic, seasoned individual with strong interpersonal and administrative skills to help take the group to the next level. Building and expanding external relations will be an important part of this assignment. In addition to heading the department, the chair is also a member of the CBE leadership team. The Department of Accounting and Finance offers undergraduate and graduate coursework in different areas of business including: Accounting, Finance, Real Estate and Taxation. The ideal candidate will qualify for appointment at the rank of Professor with a strong background and experience in one of those areas. Professional experience is a plus. Working professionals with the appropriate qualifications are encouraged to apply. Please note that teaching assignments at California State University, East Bay include courses at both the Hayward and Concord campuses.
RANK AND SALARY: Full-time, tenure-track positions at Associate Professor or Professor rank. Salary is dependent upon educational preparation and experience and subject to budgetary authorization.
DATE OF APPOINTMENT: 2010.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants in all areas of specialty are invited to apply. Candidate must have the appropriate terminal degree from an AACSB accredited institution. The candidate must have a record demonstrating teaching excellence and quality publications. Business experience, as well as professional certification, is desirable. Teaching responsibilities are at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Research responsibilities include engaging in related research and scholarly activities. In addition to teaching and research, all faculty have advising responsibilities, assist the department with administrative and/or committee work, and are expected to assume college and campus-wide committee responsibilities. THE DEPARTMENT: The Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship is part of the College of Business and Economics, the largest college at CSUEB. It offers various undergraduate and graduate programs, one of which leads to a bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration and another of which leads to an MBA, all of which are fully accredited by WASC and AACSB. There are approximately 3,500 undergraduate and 650 graduate majors in the College of Business and Economics. In 2006-07 the College moved into a new Business and Technology Center. As an integral part of the College’s innovative business major program, the Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship offers several option programs. Current undergraduate program options include: Advertising and Public Relations, Marketing Management, and Entrepreneurship. QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have an earned doctorate in Business Administration/Marketing from an AACSB accredited institution by the effective date of the appointment with specialized preparation in one or more of the primary areas in Marketing, including entrepreneurship. Candidates must also have demonstrated ability to teach, advise and mentor students from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds. Candidates with successful teaching experience at the university level and with strong research potential are preferred. Relevant industry experience is also desirable.
