Diversity and Equal Opportunity
At California State University, East Bay, we are committed to excellence
in education for a diverse society. To that end, several offices at
CSU East Bay are devoted to assisting the campus community in achieving
a workforce reflective of the diversity of the State of California
and our student body and a work and learning environment free of illegal
discrimination, harassment and retaliation. The Director of Equity and Diversity is the campus administrator responsible
for administering CSU non-discrimination, anti-harassment and non-retaliation
policies and is the campus administrator designated by the President
to determine the nature of any discrimination/harassment/retaliation
claims and to explore a resolution of the claim. The Office of Student
Judicial Affairs is also designated to receive discrimination/harassment/retaliation
claims and to refer them to the appropriate California State University,
East Bay office(s).
The Director of Equity and Diversity in the Human
Resources Department (1) insures development and implementation of
campus policies and procedures associated with equal opportunity and
affirmative action in employment; (2) monitors recruitment for staff
and administrative positions for compliance with EEO and Affirmative
Action laws; (3) investigates and recommends resolution of complaints
of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, or other equal opportunity
violations; (4) facilitates reasonable accommodations for faculty,
staff and administrators; and (5) assures compliance with disability
