Kaleidoscope Mentoring Program

The Kaleidoscope Mentoring Program provides support, guidance, professional development and networking opportunities for student members through intergenerational mentoring with faculty and staff members. Kaleidoscope mentees are assigned to a mentor who has demonstrated expertise, leadership and scholarship within the University, and are committed to the personal development, professional growth and academic success of African and African American Students. Mentees also have the opportunity to network with other mentees and mentors within the program through personal and professional development programs and events offered through the program.

Responsibility of Kaleidoscope Mentors

  • Make a one-year commitment to student mentees
  • Attend mandatory Mentor Training session
  • Facilitate individual meetings with mentees at least two (2) times per quarter
  • Actively participate in the Kaleidoscope Mentoring Program by communicating regularly with mentees(s), attend all programs/activities, and successfully fulfill program requirements
  • Adhere to CSUEB policies and procedures as applicable
