First-Time Freshmen

Now that you’ve been admitted to Cal State East Bay (congratulations and welcome!), we want to help you find your place on campus. With Welcome Day, summer orientations, classes and residence halls just for freshmen, we make it easy to fit in.

Important Things to Know

Check Your To-Do List

Log into your MyCSUEB to-do list, which includes things like confirming your enrollment by May 1 and submitting your final transcript by July 15, and complete everything on the list. Log in using your NetID (included in your acceptance letter in your welcome packet). Also, set up and check your Horizon email account for important updates.

Apply for Financial Aid

Be sure to submit your financial aid application by March 2. The earlier you file your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Dream Act Application, the more options for aid you will have. If you miss the March 2 priority deadline, you can still apply. We will start sending out financial aid award letters in March. Contact the Financial Aid office at or (510) 885-2784 (Mon-Thurs, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.).

Attend Welcome Day

Save the date for Welcome Day, an event for admitted freshmen and transfer students, April 21, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Learn all about Cal State East Bay, including the four academic colleges, student services, and student life and leadership. Register today!

Plan for Orientation

This summer, meet the students, faculty and staff that set Cal State East Bay apart at one of our freshmen orientations, June 15, June 29-30, July 20-21, or July 27-July 28. Registration opens in late March.

Choose Classes

If you choose to attend Cal State East Bay, a freshman academic advisor will contact you in March to set up an in-person meeting in April or at orientation.

Send Your Final Transcript

Submit your final high school transcript with spring semester grades and graduation confirmation by July 15.
