In order to officially accept an admission offer for the fall 2018 semester by the National Candidate's Reply Date of May 1, students need to pay a $110 pre-enrollment fee before they can complete the Student Intent to Register form (SIR.) This fee is later applied to the costs for participating in a mandatory orientation program required of all entering first-time freshmen and transfer students.
Any student who has not received a preliminary financial aid package by May 1, whose completed FAFSA or California Dream Act application was received at Cal State East Bay by the required financial aid application deadline of March 1, will not be required to pay this pre-enrollment fee until receiving a preliminary financial aid award offer.
Students unable to pay the pre-enrollment fee by the deadline due to high financial need (estimated family contributions of zero) may request fee deferments if their FAFSA or California Dream Act application results have been received by Cal State East Bay. Requests to defer the pre-enrollment fee must be made in writing and include the student’s first and last name, NetID, entering semester, and emailed to: PreEnrollmentFee@csueastbay.edu.
Cal State East Bay will notifiy students by email once their FAFSA results have been received. Only then will we be able to consider such requests for fee payment deferments.
