MP3/DAISY Players are used to play files in MP3 and/or DIASY format. DAISY is an acronym which stands for “Digital Accessible Information System” and is a digital reading format that can combine audio, text and graphical information in one production, making it accessible to a wide range of people with print disabilities

Ergonomic keyboards

An Ergonomic Keyboard is a computer keyboard designed with ergonomic considerations to minimize muscle strain, especially for people with carpel tunnel

Adaptive mice

Adaptive mice are special type of mice designed to ease the strain on hands and in some cases are not required to be operated by hands

Alpha Smarts

The Alpha Smart is a keyboard device used for word processing and functions like a digital typewriter.

Writing Tablets

a computer input device that allows one to hand-draw images and graphics, similar to the way one draws images with a pencil and paper. (For those who have difficulty accomplishing this with a mouse)

Digital Audio Recorders

Allows the user to record a lecture and playback the same later, with the capability to download it to a computer.

FM Listening Systems

The AM - FM transmitter system transmits the teacher’s voice wirelessly, and in real – time mode to a hearing impaired student.

Remote Captioning Laptop

For hearing impaired students loaner laptops are setup for real time captioning of  in-class lectures.  The audio of an in-class lecture is sent to a remote captioner via the internet (VOIP), who in turn sends the transcript via Instant Messaging.

Electronic Spellers

Quicktionary pens and reading pens assist users with difficulty in recognizing or understanding words while reading.

Pulse Pen

The Pulse Pen records as you write and links it to audio so that you don’t miss what is being said in lectures or meetings. To hear what you recorded on paper just tap on what you wrote. You can transfer your notes and recordings to your computer to play them back by downloading the software to your desktop.

Closed circuit televisions (CCTVs)

CCTVs provided by ATSO are essentially stand-alone electronic magnifiers. They help magnify documents to 16X or 16 times their original font size.
