Application Procedures for ALP Programs

Application Procedures

Step 1. Submit complete application materials to ALP. (See below for checklist for your program)

Step 2. You will receive a welcome letter with your Net ID (student ID) from ALP.

Step 3. Activate your Net ID.

Step 4. Pay non-refundable $100 application fee.

• Option 1) Send a personal check, cashier's check, or money order made payable to CSUEB with your application materials (Step 1).
• Option 2) Pay online with Credit Card or eCheck or International Bank Transfer
• Option 3) Pay at the University Cashier's in person by cash, personal check, cashier's check, or money order made payable to CSUEB.

Step 5. You will receive an admission letter and I-20 (Certificate of Eligibility) from ALP.

*Students transferring from another institution in the United States will receive an admission letter first. After completing the transfer process, new I-20 will be issued following New Student Orientation and class registration.

Step 6. Apply for a student visa (F-1) at the nearest United States Embassy/Consulate.

Step 7. Pay tuition fees before/on the first day of New Student Orientation.

• Option 1) Pay online with Credit Card or eCheck or International Bank Transfer
• Option 2) Pay at the University Cashier's in person by cash, personal check, cashier's check, or money order made payable to CSUEB.

Step 8. Attend New Student Orientation and register for classes.

Deferred Admission

Additional $100 application fee will be charged if you want to defer to another quarter. Please e-mail your requests for deferred admission to alpgen@csueastbay.edu.

Late Fee

New students will be charged a late fee of $75 for tuition payment after the first day of Orientation.

Withdrawals and Refund Policy

• No refund of application fees and registration fees.
• 100% refund of all tuition fees paid before the beginning of classes.
• 65% refund if application for refund is approved before the end of the first week of classes.
• No refund after the first week of classes.

Please download the required documents for your program and submit the completed materials by mail or fax. Your application will not be processed until all required documents are received.

For Intensive English and IELTS Preparation Program

• Intensive English Application Form
• Non-refundable $100.00 application fee (pay online or by check, cashier's check, or money order made payable to CSUEB)
• Declaration of Finances for F-1 Students
• Verification of Financial Declaration (bank statements, letter, or seal)
• Health Insurance Compliance Form
• Visa Information Form
• International Student Housing Interest Form
• A Legible Copy of your Passport (name page and photo)
• Transfer Form, if transferring from another US university or school

For Conditional Admission to Cal State East Bay
Undergraduate Degree Programs

• Intensive English and IELTS Preparation Program application
• Non-refundable $100.00 application fee (pay online or by check, cashier's check, or money order made payable to CSUEB)
• Official, sealed transcripts from Secondary School and/or any College or University attended. Transcripts should be both in your native language and translated into English.
• Declaration of Finances for International Students (F1 & J1)
• Verification of Finances (bank statements, letter, or seal)
• I-20 Letter of Consent for F-1 International Students
• Confirmation Page of the CSU Mentor Online Application (View sample)
• International Student Housing Interest Form
• A Legible Copy of your Passport (name page and photo)
• Transfer Form, if transferring from another US university or school

For Pre-MBA, International Business Diploma, TESOL,
and Paralegal Studies Programs

• Pre-MBA, Diploma, and Certificate Application
• Non-refundable $100.00 application fee (pay online or by check, cashier's check, or money order made payable to CSUEB)
• Declaration of Finances for F-1 Students
• Verification of Finances (bank statements, letter, or seal)
• Signed Health Insurance Compliance form
• Visa Information Form
• International Student Housing Interest Form
• A Legible Copy of your Passport (name page and photo)
• Official TOEFL or IELTS Score
• Official transcript verifying completion of 4-year bachelor degree or equivalent
• Transfer Form, if transferring from another US university or school
• For Pre-MBA students only: International Application Agreement Statement from your CSU Mentor MBA program online application (View sample)

For Visiting Student Program

• Intensive English and IELTS Preparation Program Application

• Declaration of Finances for F-1 Students
• Verification of Finances (bank statements, letter, or seal)
• Health Insurance Compliance form
• Visa Information Form
• International Student Housing Interest Form
• A Legible Copy of your Passport (name page and photo)
• Official TOEFL or IELTS score
• Official transcript of undergraduate courses taken at home university
• Transfer Form, if transferring from another US university or school
