Welcome to the College of Business and Economics Dean Xinjian Lu


The College of Business and Economics (CBE) at California State University, East Bay offers six degree programs: BS in Business Administration, BA in Economics, MA in Economics, MBA, MS in Accountancy, and MS in Business Analytics. Experiential learning components have been built into these programs to enable active student engagement in learning. Courses are taught by highly qualified faculty in a small-class and interactive learning environment for students.

CBE also provides experiential learning opportunities, mostly through extracurricular activities, which allow students to engage with faculty and business professionals and with the practice of business. These activities include Jumpstart weekend programs (2-day leadership communications workshops), company presentations, dine-with-an-alum, dine-with-an-exec, career weeks, etc. Most of these activities are organized by CBE Office of Career & Professional Development. Academic departments also provide additional career and development opportunities for students.

As a business school, CBE strives to develop and strengthen its impact through active academic and professional engagement that sustain high-quality intellectual capital, which fosters innovation in degree programs, pedagogies, and student services.
