In 1849 gold was discovered in Northern California sparking a Gold Rush as people from around the U.S. and around the world flooded California hoping to strike it rich.  Now there is a new rush to Northern California to take advantage of educational opportunities, a booming economy and amazing job proespects for those with skills to meet them.  The California State University (CSU) system's purpose is to provide practical career-focused education to prepare students to meet the needs of California's work force.  In order to market the advantages of the CSU system to students overseas, four Northern California CSUs have partnered to do outreach especially in India.  For more information follow our CSU Golden Four Facebook page.

Cal State East Bay is located in the most populous, dynamic and diverse region of the Bay Area. The East Bay is experiencing rapid economic growth and an influx of innovation and cultural change. CSU Chico was founded in 1887, making it the second oldest CSU campus in the state. The average undergraduate class size is 30 students, and the student-to-faculty ratio is 23 to 1.
