A pool of applicants is being sought by several departments for possible temporary teaching positions in the College of Science, Cal State East Bay, for one or more quarters of the 2016-17 academic year. Lecturers currently in the 2016-17 temporary pool must submit a written intent to remain in the 2016-17 temporary pool along with an updated CV. Applications will be kept on file from Summer Quarter 2016 through Spring Quarter 2017, or until hiring for the Spring Quarter is complete.
Openings will be filled from the pool of applicants before the start of each term. Please note that teaching assignments at California State University, East Bay include courses at the Hayward, Concord and Online campuses. In addition, employment is contingent on course enrollment and budget. POSITION NUMBER: 16-17 BIOL PT-1
Part-time lecturer positions teaching major and non-major courses in Biology including Introductory Biology, Genetics, Developmental Genetics, Hematology, Microbiology and Human Physiology and Anatomy.
A Ph.D. degree in Biological Sciences or related field is required for these positions. However, for certain non-major courses only, the Ph.D. requirement may be waived.

CHEMISTRY & BIOCHEMISTRY
POSITION NUMBER: 16-17 CHEM PT-1
Possible part-time positions teaching introductory and advanced Chemistry and Biochemistry classes, Ph.D. required. Lecturer positions in laboratory classes may also be available, minimum requirement is M.S. in Chemistry or Biochemistry or enrollment in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry M.S. Degree program. A Ph.D. degree in Chemistry or related field is preferred for the laboratory classes.

Part-time lecturer positions teaching lower-division computer programming and advanced topics in Computer Science. For consideration, applicants must possess a graduate degree in Computer Science and have teaching experience at the post-secondary level.

EARTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES
POSITION NUMBER: 16-17 EESC PT-1
Possible part-time positions teaching Introductory Environmental Science and Geology, Earth Systems Science, Introductory Oceanography, Meteorology, Environmental Biology, and graduate classes in applied fields, e.g., GIS, data analysis for geosciences, Engineering Geology.
Minimum requirement of M.S. in Geology, Environmental Science or its equivalent, or enrollment in a graduate degree program in Geology or Environmental Science.

Possible part time position for teaching in Construction Management Program at both Bachelors’s and Master’s level. M.S. degree in Civil Engineering/Construction with relevant work experience is required. Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering/Construction is preferred.

POSITION NUMBER: 16-17 HS PT-1
Possible part-time positions teaching Health Science courses to majors and non-majors. Recruiting in all areas but particular need in: health law, health care systems, environmental health, management, research and writing, health disparities, and medical humanities. Candidates with Doctoral Degree in related field preferred. Will consider Master’s Degree with certification and/or work experience. Teaching experience at University level in blended learning and online teaching in all positions, highly desired.

Possible part-time positions teaching mathematics at the level of introductory calculus and below with the possibility of more advanced courses on occasion. Minimum requirement is a Master's degree in Mathematics. Students who are currently in good standing in the Mathematics Graduate Program at CSU East Bay may also be considered.

POSITION NUMBER: 16-17 NURS PT-1
Possible part-time positions teaching (clinical or lecture) undergraduate Medical-Surgical Nursing, Pediatric, Perinatal, Gerontologic, Mental Health, Community Health Nursing, Research, Leadership, Legal Responsibilities of Health Care Providers, or Nutrition/Medical Nutrition Therapy; RN Advanced Placement (lecture, online, seminar) and Health Assessment. Minimum qualifications: M.S. in Nursing, from an accredited College or University which includes course work in nursing, education or administration, current, unrestricted California RN license, one year of clinical experience providing direct patient care within the last five years, eligible for BRN approval to teach in a nursing program. Teaching experience at University level preferred for all positions.

Possible part-time positions teaching introductory physics (lectures and labs), introductory astronomy (lectures and labs), and introductory cosmology. A Ph.D. in Physics is preferred.
Also possible part-time positions teaching hands-on Physics and science education (lecture and labs). An M.S. in Physics and/or science education and teacher training experience preferred.
