Emergency
Loan Program
The University
established the Emergency Loan Program to assist students who are
experiencing short-term financial difficulties. This program is
not intended to supplement or replace any of our financial aid programs
which offer long-term financial assistance. Borrowers must be regularly
admitted (not Extended Ed.) students, enrolled in a minimum of four
quarter units. Applications are available in the Office of Financial
Aid and in the Warren Hall first floor lobby.
Foreign Student
Emergency Loan Program
The University
established a limited emergency loan fund to assist regularly enrolled
students on F-1 visas. The maximum loan is $200 and loans must be
repaid within nine months of receipt or by the date of graduation,
whichever occurs first. Applications are available in the Office
of Financial Aid.
Financial
Aid Scholarships
The Office of Financial Aid administers approximately fifteen scholarships. Scholarship recipients are selected based on financial need and grade point average. Applications are available each February from the Office of Financial Aid and the application deadline are online http://esweb.csueastbay.edu/becoming_student/financial_aid/scholarships/csuh_scholarships.php.
Department
Administered Scholarships
The University offers a variety of scholarships through on-campus departments. Students may contact their major department for more information on department scholarship opportunities.
Off-Campus
Scholarships
The Office of Financial Aid maintains a scholarship website http://esweb.csueastbay.edu/becoming_student/financial_aid/scholarships/other_scholarship_opportunities.php. Also visit fastweb.com, a no-cost private scholarship search service.
Should I
Pay for a Scholarship Search?
Many private
organizations charge students for individual scholarship search
and match services. With some effort, the same scholarship information
can be obtained from schools, libraries and from private sources
free of charge. We strongly discourage students from paying for
any scholarship information.
