online Chronicle of Higher Education (http://chronicle.com)
is a great source of info, and it is easy to send articles to
colleagues via email. Although some of the articles are publicly
accessible, you’ll need a subscription to gain full access to
the online Chronicle.

POD,
the Professional and Organizational Development Network in
Higher Education (http://www.podnetwork.org)
is a great organization and many CSU faculty development
directors attend their annual fall meeting. POD also has an
active listserv.

Rick
Reiss at Stanford maintains the Tomorrow’s Professor listserv
(http://sll.stanford.edu/projects/tomprof/newtomprof/postings.html),
which is another great source of information and which provides
almost daily extracts from resources in higher education that
are easy to forward to interested colleagues.

AAHE
(http://www.aahe.org)
provides outstanding conferences and resources. Many CSU
colleagues have attended their Faculty Roles and Rewards
conferences (http://www.aahe.org/initiatives/facultyroles.htm).
Their assessment conference also is outstanding. Another great
organization is the American Association of Colleges and
Universities (AAC&U; http://www.aacu-edu.org),
and their publication, Greater Expectations is a wonderful
review of what a liberal education should be. It’s available
online at http://greaterexpectations.org.

The
CSU publishes an online newsletter (http://www.calstate.edu/CSULeader)
to help you keep current on CSU happenings. You can add your
name to the distribution list.

you’re going to provide support for accreditation efforts,
WASC (http://www.wascweb.org/senior)
has some good materials online, including their 2001 Standards
and evidence guide.

National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) has some great

MERLOT, started within
the CSU, has grown into an international repository of Web-based
