What do I need to do to graduate from CSUEB

You are now a 2nd year student here at CSUEB. Your classification may be freshmen or it may be sophomore, either way you are considered for puposes of taking classes a 2nd year student. Remember that you need 45 units to be classified a sophomore.

If you have taken a cluster in Area B - Sciences you would take classes in:

  • Area C - You need three classes in three different departments to complete this area. This would be one class in C1, one class in C2 and one class in C3. If you decide to take a language series, you must take three classes of the same language to complete this area. For example: Spanish you would take MLL 1401, 1402 and 1403. This would then complete the sequence.
  • Area D - You need three classes to complete this area. You need to take three different courses from three different departments.

If you have taken a cluster in Area C - Humanities you would take classes in:

  • Area B: Science - You need three classes from three different departments to complete this area. One class must be a life science (B2); one must be a physical science (B1) and the last one (B5) can be either another life or physical science. You must also complete a lab requirement.
  • Area D - You need three classes to complete this area. You need to take three different courses from three different departments.

If you have taken a cluster in Area D - Social Science would take classes in:

  • Area C - You need three classes in three different departments to complete this area. This would be one class in C1, one class in C2 and one class in C3. If you decide to take a do a language series, you must take three classes of the same language to complete this area. For example: Spanish you would take MLL 1401, 1402 and 1403.   • Area B: Science - You need two classes from two different departments to complete this area. One class must be a life science (B2); one must be a physical science (B1). You must also complete a lab requirement.
  • Area C - You need two classes in two different departments to complete this area. This would be one class in C1 and one class in C2.
  • Area D - You need two classes to complete this area. You need to take two different courses from two different departments.
