Search for Spirituality
The search for the spiritual side of human nature has led to great artistic and esthetic expression. Along with the philosophical understanding that has developed the world's great religions, these arts have shaped the culture, social structure, and values of humanity throughout the ages. Join us as we examine the spiritual origins of the multinational people that make up our university. The three discipline courses are: Art 1011- Introduction to World Art History: Spirituality - Style and content in the visual arts as they reflect the expression of spirituality in selected salient periods of art history. (Number changed in Spring 2001 was formerly Art 1010-01) Philosophy 1401 - Religions of the World - Comparative study of religions from around the world, such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism, Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Music 1014 - Introduction to World Music History- Survey of the music of selected cultures. Relationships among art, music, and religions from around the world with emphasis on cultural, historical, and social influences. (Number change in Spring 2001 was formerly Music 1004-01) The above courses are offered every quarter and you must register for a different one each quarter. Updated
