Scores

If you did not satisfy the English Placement Test (EPT) and/or the Entry Level Mathematics (ELM) requirements, you must enroll in and complete the necessary remedial coursework as soon as possible. Listed below you will find the scoring and corresponding remedial class.

EPT (English)

You must enroll in the first course your first quarter of attendance at CSUEB, which is followed by the second course the following quarter and then the last course your third quarter.

141 and below	English 801, 802 and 803 or (804, 805, and 806)
142-146	English 803 or 910
147-150	English 1001 and 989 (in the same quarter)
151 or higher	College level English - 1001

ELM (Mathematics)

You must enroll in the first course your first quarter of attendance at CSUEB, which is followed by the second course the following quarter and then the last course your third quarter. Please note that starting May 4, 2002 there was a new scoring rate.

Starting May 2002 (new scores)

28 or below	Math 801, 802, 950
30-40	Math 802 or 900 and 950
42-48	Math 950
50 or higher	College level math (1110, 1130, 1300, 1304, 1810; Stat 1000, 2088)

Starting 1998 to April 2002 (old scores)

370 or below	Math 801, 802 and 950
380-470	Math 900 and 950
550 or higher	College level math (1110, 1130, 1300, 1304, 1810; Stat 1000, 2088)
