We believe that on-campus housing provides the support, academic environment and location necessary for students to be successful at California State University, East Bay. In addition, our talented staff members and student leaders are committed to working with you to create an experience that can enhance this journey in your life.
Become part of our student Housing Community! Once the Student Housing Portal opens and you have been provisionally admitted to CSUEB, you may apply to live on-campus. For your convenience, this process is completely online. Housing spaces and preferences are available on a first come first, served basis.
Applicants under 18 years of age will need parent or guardian approval prior to submitting a contract. The parent or guardian will receive an email with a link to our database to submit approval. Once approval has been submitted, the applicant can log back into the Student Housing Portal to submit and complete the contract.

First-Year students will have the opportunity to live in our First-Year Suites. Each suite consists of 3 or 4 double and triple occupancy bedrooms, two bathrooms, a common living area, and a kitchenette. All students living on-campus are required to have a meal plan. First Year students can select the Red Plan that allows unlimited entries to the Dining Commons, Sunday through Saturday, or select the Black Plan that allows unlimited entry to the Dining Commons. Monday - Friday. The Red and Black Plans include Flex Dollars to use at any on-campus dining facility.
Incoming First Year Students will have the opportunity to live in Juniper, Sequoia, and Tamalpais Halls. We offer Double and Triple occupancy rooms in these buildings. We are dedicated to providing first-year students with support and resources for smooth transitions into college life at Cal State East Bay and for success beyond graduation.
Incoming Transfer Students will have the opportunity to live in the Transfer Living Learning Community in Sonora Hall. We offer Double and Triple occupancy rooms in this building. The Transfer Living Learning Community is dedicated to providing transfer students with support and resources for smooth transitions into college life at Cal State East Bay and for success beyond graduation.
Space reservations are awarded on a first come, first-served basis, based upon receipt of all required documents and information and the appropriate payment. You are encouraged to complete and return your housing application and licensing information as early as possible. Confirmation letters are sent to those provided a space reservation for housing.
Completing the application and contract does not guarantee you will receive housing. Applicants completing the licensing process, but not initially provided accommodations, are placed on a wait list and contacted as cancellations occur.
Our waiting list is organized by contract completion date, and not by priority number. Students who live outside of the counties above will be given priority, We do not assign numbers to students on our waiting list.
You will receive waitlist updates throughout the summer to keep you informed of your status. Once space becomes available, we will contact you through your Horizon email with confirmation notice and room assignment information.
We will keep you on the waiting list until we are able to provide you with a confirmed space reservation or receive a signed written request to cancel.
