Information and Computing Resource Use Policy

I understand that all computing and information related technologies and resources provided by California State University, East Bay are governed by appropriate Federal and State laws, and the regulations and polices of California State University, East Bay and the California State University system. I agree that my use of computing resources, facilities, and services is justified by the educational or research programs of the university.

Assigned account numbers are authorized for use only in support of the CSUEB educational mission and are subject to, but not limited to, the Acceptable Computing Use Policy web page. Computing resources, facilities, and services are not to be used for commercial purposes, and are not to be funded by any external entity. The unauthorized use of CSUEB computing resources, facilities, and information technology is a violation of Penal Code 502 and is punishable by a fine not exceeding $10,000 and/or imprisonment not exceeding three years. Accounts are revocable at any time by the university.

Accounts and the information kept in them are subject to review by CSUEB administrative and/or technical personnel in the course of their assigned duties. Information subject to review includes but is not limited to files in the account and electronic communications (including electronic mail). All information stored on CSUEB's computing resources is subject to review and may be passed on to law enforcement personnel if appropriate.
