East Bay Replay

Welcome to the East Bay Replay Faculty Info WebSite!

You may have heard about the ongoing success of East Bay’s Lecture Capture project, East Bay Replay (EBR). Students are enthusiastic as are faculty veterans of the project. Their comments are available on this site. See the links on the sidebar menu.

East Bay Replay (generically referred to as “Lecture Capture”) automatically captures lectures (audio and computer screen) and posts these recorded lectures (automatically) to the Blackboard course site for students to review as a learning supplement to the course in a rich media format. In some classrooms where cameras or document cameras are installed it is also possible to include a recording of material written on the blackboard, whiteboard or document camera.

The process is fully automatic and requires no preparation or learning curve on your part. We like to refer to it as "Taskless" from the faculty point of view.

Other campuses in the CSU system and across the country are doing this with great success. It is reported to increase student retention and performance. Click on this site for examples from other institutions throughout the country. http://panopto.com/resources/video-recordings/ or use the menu bar on the left and check out samples recorded on our campus.

Your participation in this program requires little to no extra effort on your part. You teach as you normally teach and your presentation is automatically recorded and made available via password protected Blackboard course sites to your students for review and study on their own or in study groups.
