FuelCell Energy Inc. in Danbury says it has won servicing contracts from a California utility that has installed its clean-energy powerplants at a pair of universities in the state.
Pacific Gas & Electric, which is preparing to throw the switch on the two powerplants, hired FuelCell to handle periodic maintenance and servicing for the units, FuelCell said Friday.
Terms weren't disclosed. These and other servicing pacts provide an extra source of revenue once FuelCell delivers and installs its power units.
Last September, PG&E issued FuelCell a $12.6 million contract to install two 1.4 megawatt fuel cell plants to be installed on campuses of California State University East Bay and San Francisco State University.
