· Find out how to write a personal statement, finance graduate studies and prepare for the Graduate Record Examination March 8 at Pathway to Graduate School. The event runs from 6 to 8 p.m. in the New University Union multipurpose room. Visit the Web site for additional information and online registration details.

· Want help with your taxes? Student volunteers from the Department of Accounting will provide free income tax assistance to the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays, March 10 and 17, April 7 and 14 in the Valley Business and Technology Center, room 221, on the Hayward campus. Filers must be California residents. Bring photo identification, last year’s federal and state tax returns, social security cards for yourself and dependents, W-2 and 1099 forms.
