Ron Paul, former 12-term Congressman of Texas and three-time candidate for President of the United States, will be speaking at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, on the Hayward campus of California State University, East Bay, 25800 Carlos Bee Blvd. The subject of his speech is “Liberty Defined: The Future of Freedom.”
His appearance at the university is sponsored by The Smith Center for Private Enterprise Studies and The Independent Institute. No state funds will be used for hosting the event or compensating the speaker.
The speech by Paul will take place in CSUEB’s University Theatre. While admission to the Paul speech is free and the public is invited, tickets will be required and will be available on a first come, first served basis by contacting The Independent Institute at (510) 632-1366, ext. 105; email@example.com; or visiting www.independent.org. Parking for the event will be free, starting at 3 p.m., in Lot K.
Paul, considered by many to be a leading advocate for limited constitutional government, low taxes and free markets, will provide a candid look at what he calls “the dysfunctional American political system.”
Paul, the author of numerous New York Times best-selling books, will use his speech to highlight “the need to rein in unchecked government power.” The New York Post has referred to him as “a man who cannot be bought by special interests.”
Following his speech, Paul will be hosted in a private reception and book signing in the New University Union, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Admission to that event will be $75.
