Celeste Atlus, ’95 Mass Communication, has come full circle. Now, as owner of her namesake communication company, she is seeking input from her alma mater for a story she is writing for “Military Advanced Education” about marketing and recruitment of students by colleges and universities, particularly concerning theory, practices, financial aid, and ethics.

Atlus credits Professor Emeritus Mary Trapp for her guidance and training here at CSUEB.

Atlus went on to work for the next eight years as a reporter in local media, the longest as a police reporter at the Contra Costa Times. In 2004 she became the San Francisco bureau chief of the New York-based “Adweek” magazine, then later Northwest Bureau Chief of “PRWeek.”

She now operates her own freelance writing business, specializing in business, tech and military issues, out of Martinez.
