Alumni, students, staff and faculty present original show at NYC arts center

Dana DeGuzman, a senior in music, Keith Penney, ‘10, physics, Stacz Sadowski, ‘92 theatre and dance, and staff member Matt Payne will be part of the Dandelion Dancetheater troop in residence Aug. 23-Sept. 8 at the Baryshnikov Arts Center in New York City.

A public showing of their new work, “Don’t Suck,” created and directed by Eric Kupers, assistant professor of theatre and dance, is set for 7:30 p.m. Sept. 7.

This is a segment of the larger piece, “Dance Experiments with Reality TV”

The residency grants the company $15,000, training opportunities, and use of the Princess Grace Foundation and the Baryshnikov Arts Center to rehearse and perform the show.


Dandelion is collaborating with filmmaker Austin Forbord to do a first draft of a reality TV pilot looking at competition in experimental dance.
