"Halie! A Celebration: The Life and Legacy of Mahalia Jackson," ended a fabulous run at Cal State East Bay earlier this week. Before the final show, Halie! was a topic of discussion on the "Wanda Picks" blog radio program. The show is hosted by Wanda Sabir, Arts Editor for San Francisco Bay View National Black Newspaper.
Playwright Wendy Taylor, director and Associate Professor of Musical Theatre and Acting Darryl Jones, and Oakland singer and actress Jeannine Anderson, spoke to Sabir about the impact Mahalia Jackson had on society and the music industry.
