“Slipstream,” one of three teams of graduate students in the multi-media program, returned from the May 20-22  “Maker Faire” at the San Mateo Fairgrounds with lots of encouragement and an “editor’s award” ribbon.

Ellias Fullmore, Claire Lewis, Jateen Bhakta, Kathleen Reyes and James Tacker have worked all year on a video game that doubles as a personality test, also named “Slipstream.”

We were really popular with the eight-year-olds. It’s simple, fun, we wanted something basic,” said Tacker of the public opportunity to test the game.

Tacker, who will earn his M.A. in a little less than two weeks, says the project taught him time management and teamwork.

The public is invited to review all three Multimedia Graduate Program thesis project presentations June 9. A reception is set for 6 p.m. in Art & Edcuation 160, presentations will be done at 7 p.m. in Art & Education 1203, and the exhibits will be open at 8 p.m. in the Valley Business and Technology Center 125.
