Autism now affects 1 in 110 children, a 600% increase in the disorder in the last 20 years. 

Carolyn Miller from University of California, Davis for a discussion of the impact of autism on families, schools, and the state.  Miller will introduce current research on autism, and explore efforts to explain the startling increase in diagnosed cases of Spectrum Disorders. The challenges facing autistic children now touch every community.  How can families and society cope?  Miller will help start the search for answers.
