English Department to award cash prizes in short fiction, poetry contests

The Cal State East Bay English Department is taking entries through 4 p.m. Monday, April 2 in two writing contests: the “Robert V. Williams Memorial Contest” for short fiction, and the “Don Markos Prize for Poetry.”

Prizes of $100 for first place, $75 for second, and $50 for third will be awarded in both contests. Both contests are open to all persons who have enrolled at CSUEB as an undergraduate or graduate student during the 2011-12 academic year.

Hard copy submission must be brought to be English Department, Music Building 2579, by 4 p.m. April 2.
