The African American Faculty and Staff Association (AAFSA) at Cal State East Bay will award ten (10) $1,200 scholarships to eligible CSUEB students at their annual Scholarship Dinner and Celebration on April 5, 2013. This year’s theme is “Celebrating 10 Years of Paying it Forward.”

Eligible recipients are current CSUEB students in good standing as of the Winter Quarter 2013, pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree and have a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5 for undergraduate students and a 3.0 GPA for graduate students.

Tickets for the award’s dinner are $40 general admission and $30 students. Purchase tickets on csueastbaytickets

AAFSA is an organization of committed CSUEB faculty and staff with ties to the African American community. In addition to taking part in campus activities, such as the Education Summit, its primary function is to raise scholarship money, and to honor recipients. Cal State East Bay men's basketball player Kenneth Farr was named as one of 10 recipients of AAFSA scholarship in 2011. Read Farr's interview on how he balances being both a scholar and student-athlete.
