Cal State East Bay junior Linda Brown shot 73 (+2) for the second consecutive day to climb up to 23rd place after the final round of the NCAA Division II Championships. Brown, who was West Regional co-champion and the first Pioneer golfer ever to compete at Division II Nationals, finished with a four-round total of 303 (+19) at the par-71 Rock Barn Golf and Spa.
The San Leandro native ended up placing in the top-third of the overall field of 72 golfers. She finished fourth out of all golfers competing individually. Brown was named a Division II All-American by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WCGA). She also earned All-West Regions, as announced on Thursday night during the WGCA Division II Awards Banquet. She's the first CSUEB golfer to be honored as an All-American. Entering Nationals, Brown ranked 28th in the nation in scoring average (76.67), second in short game percentage (53.4%), and sixth in fewest putts per round (30.75).
