Benjamin P. Bowser

Benjamin Bowser (Ph.D. 1978, Cornell University) is chair of the Department of Sociology and Social Services. He was the university's "Outstanding Professor" in 1996 and was "Visiting Professor" at the University of Paris, La Sorbonne, in spring 2005. Dr. Bowser has published extensively in race and ethnic relations, racism, and HIV/AIDS prevention, and has served on several National Academy of Sciences panels. He is U.S. associate editor of Sage Race Relations Abstracts (London) and past president of the Association of Black Sociologists.
