3. Introducting our New Internships Coordinator:
East Bay has hired a new Internships Coordinator, Mariaelena Marcano. Mariaelena comes to us from San Jose State University where she served in a variety of capacities within Student Affairs. She has an extensive background counseling students and providing programming for them at SJSU, Columbia University and the City College of New York. At East Bay, Mariaelena will help build an umbrella website through which students can get connected to classes, internal and external opportunities, and other options if they wish to participate in an internship. In addition, she will be working with the many campus offices that offer internships to try and coalesce our opportunities in a way that makes it easy for students and potential partners to find internships or advertise them. Please join us in welcoming Mariaelena to East Bay!
4. Back to the Bay: THANK YOU
Just a quick note to thank all of the many faculty and staff presenters, and all of the faculty and staff helpers who made Back to the Bay such a success. We had over 250 registrants and many, many sessions which attracted audiences of 30 or more. It was a great day, and hats off to Faculty Development, the Online Campus, ITS, and others for coordinating a great community effort. If you still have an attendance sheet from your session, please pop it in the mail to Roger or Jessica. And, thank you to all who presented, helped, or attended!
