The transition to semesters offers the opportunity to increase students’ active engagement in our classes. Faculty can take advantage of both the similarities and differences between quarters and semesters. This workshop will address such factors as: time, pace, and units, looking at how these impact the student/faculty experience and strategies for student learning. We will also tour an open Blackboard resource created by East Bay faculty for East Bay faculty that presents practical ideas and examples of assignments and activities.
