Become an Official

Interested in a flexible and fun work environment? As an Intramural Sports Official, you are a key component to a dynamic program offering a multitude of leagues, tournaments and special events to the Cal State East Bay community. While no direct officiating experience is required, it is suggested that candidates have some experience watching, playing, coaching, or volunteering in a sports related work environment. Ultimately we look for individuals with a passion for sports and a willingness to learn.

Intramural Sports hires officials for soccer (both indoor and outdoor), basketball, volleyball and flag football. Interested individuals should submit their resume and cover letter through Handshake. If the job has closed for the season/quarter, please contact the IM Sports office to express interest in joining the officiating squad.

Officials Clinics

Attendance at Officials Clinic(s) is MANDATORY for staff. Due to the competition for these positions, we generally do not accept excuses for not being able to attend. Staff MUST attend the rules session for every sport you wish to officiate. Clinics cover the rules of the sport, positioning and mechanics, and tips and pointers on how to manage the total game experience so that you are prepped for game day!
