Declaring a major or minor in writing is an important step in establishing your student record and is a requirement for you to earn your progress toward your degree and to graduate. To declare a major, obtain the Change of Major Minor or Option Form in the Enrollment Information Center on the first floor of the Student Services Building on the Hayward Campus. When you submit this form you should also contact your academic department to select a major advisor and to make an academic plan for graduation.
Changing your major, minor or option is possible for undergraduates, second bachelor’s degree students, and graduate students. Changes made to your primary major will be posted to MyCSUEB, but will not be visible in MyCSUEB until the following quarter term.
Undergraduate students who wish to change their major, minor, or option may use the Change of Major, Minor, or Option Form, and turn in the completed form to the Enrollment Information Center on the first floor of the Student Services Building on the Hayward Campus, or the Academic Services Center on the Concord Campus. Post-baccalaureate students (students who have completed a bachelor’s degree program) who wish to change their program to a second baccalaureate or bachelor’s degree objective may also use this form.
Graduate Students who wish to declare or add an option to their graduate program must use the Request to Declare or Change Option for Graduate Students Form. Graduate students who wish to change their degree objective must complete the online Change of Graduate Objective Request Form. For inquiries regarding the Change of Graduate Objective process you may e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or call the Office of Admission at (510) 885-3500.
