Payment Methods

There are several ways to pay your fees. The methods are as follows:

Internet: Make online payments for registration, housing, Open University, emergency loan, graduation and orientation fees anytime at MyCSUEB. Payments made after 4:00 p.m. post the next business day.

    NOTE: THIS SITE NO LONGER SELLS PARKING PERMITS ONLINE, PLEASE GO TO THE FOLLOWING LINK: http://www.bookstore.csueastbay.edu/main.htm.

    Electronic check (ACH) payments:
    There is no fee for using this method.

    Credit card using SMARTPAY through MyCSUEB. VISA is no longer accepted. The convenience fee for use of CASHNET SMARTPAY is 2.9% of the transaction amount rounded up to the next multiple of $.25.

    Please note: This fee is not collected by CSUEB and is non-refundable.

U.S. Mail Please mail your check to:

Make your check payable to CSUEB. Please make sure that your full name, current address, and phone number are on the face of the check. To help us process your payment and ensure that you receive proper credit, please include your Net ID number on the check Allow at least 10 business days for mailed payments to reach the Accounting Office.

Pay in Person: Go to the Cashier's Office in the first floor Lobby of Warren Hall or the Concord Academic Services Lobby. Always request a receipt for your records.


Forms of Acceptable Payment

Personal check:
All checks must be written in English. Make your check payable CSUEB. Please include your full name, Net ID number, current address, and phone number on the face of the check. A $25 fee will be assessed for each returned bank transaction.

    Drop your check and completed Fees Payment Worksheet in the drop box at the Cashier's Office in the first floor Lobby of Warren Hall or the Concord Academic Services Lobby.

Certified funds: Make cashier's check, money order, or other certified funds payable to CSUEB. Please include your full name, Net ID number, current address, and phone number.

Credit card: You may use AMERICAN EXPRESS, MASTERCARD, or DISCOVER to pay your fees and/or any previous balance using SMARTPAY through MyCSUEB. VISA is no longer accepted. The convenience fee for use of CASHNET SMARTPAY is 2.9% of the transaction amount rounded up to the next multiple of $.25.

Cash: You must make cash payments at the Cashier's Office in the first floor Lobby of Warren Hall or the Concord Academic Services Lobby. Do not mail cash.

Financial Aid Payment
Enrollment fees for financial aid recipients are automatically deferred. They are not required to prepay enrollment fees or send payment by the published deadline. If financial aid recipients do not intend to attend classes, it is imperative they withdraw from the quarter or drop all classes before the quarter begins. Financial aid recipients will not be dropped for non-payment of fees. The University will bill financial aid recipients if the financial aid is insufficient to pay fees. Students who remain enrolled and are ineligible for financial aid, will be billed for fees.

Campus Approved Sponsors
Enrollment fees for students who have a campus-approved sponsor (ex. California Veteran's Fee Waiver, State of California Department of Rehabilitation, a CSUEB Presidential Scholarship) are automatically deferred. They are not required to prepay enrollment fees or send payment by the published deadline. The sponsor documents must be filed in the Accounting Office - WA645 by the published deadline or classes may be dropped.

The Accounting Office will no longer be able to bill sponsors for student parking decals. Students should make arrangements with their sponsors for payment or reimbursement.

If you receive a notice reminding you to pay your fees, contact the Accounting Office immediately. You are responsible for paying your fees if your sponsor fails to pay when billed by the University. For information on campus-approved sponsors, call the Accounting Office, (510) 885-3767.

Installment Payment Plans

California Residents

California Resident students can defer State University Fees by completing a Contract for State University Fee Deferment. The signed Contract must be received in the Accounting Office WA645 by December 19, 2007, or enrolled/wait-listed classes will be dropped. Payments must be made by Deferment will not be effective without it, If you have questions, contact the Accounting Office, WA 645, (510) 885-3767.

    Submit this Contract with your first installment or the Contract only, if you have paid by credit card or by check on the Web, to: Cal State University, East Bay, Accounting Office, WA 645, Hayward, CA 94542-3024. Your deferment will not be effective without it, and you will be able to Enroll only for units for which you have paid. If you have questions, contact the Accounting Office, WA 645, (510) 885-3767.

    Students are responsible for making payments by the due dates of December 19, 2007, January 19, 2008 and February 19, 2008.


International and Non-Resident Tuition
International and Non-Resident students can defer Tuition by completing a Tuition Deferment Payment Plan at the Accounting Office, WA 645.

The first payment must include all the fees required of California Resident students, plus the signed form. The Tuition, plus a 15% surcharge, may be paid in two payments.
