Description of any specific skills, preparation, or training required:
Mentors provide guidance and facilitate teams of 3-5 students (freshmen) in their efforts to define a business idea, write a business plan, and create an accompanying slide presentation. The year culminates in a business plan competition before a panel of judges drawn from leading Bay Area academic, business, and investment communities. Mentors work in conjunction with BUILD staff and teachers to round out the business learning and projects that the students undertake.

Program Support: This is a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic, self-motivated student who is interested in pursuing a career in social entrepreneurship, teaching, youth development, or marketing. Build mentors can expect to gain a number of valuable skills, and a lasting relationship with their mentees.
Special Events: Students in winter & spring quarter classes can assist with planning and preparation for BUILD's signature end-of-year celebration.
