There are both large and small classrooms – all of which are equipped with instructional technology: projector, computer, laptop connection, chalkboard or whiteboard.
The layout of the classrooms is primarily based on the furniture:
Below are descriptions of the specialized spaces on the Hayward campus. Most spaces are viewable in our location gallery.
Amphitheatre – outdoor venue with stage for concerts, and other special presentation events. Lawn areas, surrounded with redwood trees can accommodate up to 5,000 people; chairs can be arranged for seating.
Valley Business and Technology Presentation Center – VBT 124 – this room seats 255 people with a tiered floor and fixed seating. There are multiple screens for media presentations and specialized technology for streaming video and other applications.
Gymnasium – seats 3,000. The bleachers can be available on both sides of the room, just one side, or not at all so that the full floor space can be utilized. For non-sporting events, the floor is tarped for protection. The following specialized rooms are also in the PE building:
Main Theatre – seats 460 with a full stage, curtains, and lighting.
Music Recital Hall – seats 186 in an accoustically designed space ideal for piano and other music recitals. A grand piano is available for rent.
Lawn and Picnic Areas – there are several across campus for other outdoor events.
Stadium – professional grade turf and track, scoreboard, and lighting. The Stadium Field House is also available for rental use.
Baseball and Softball Fields as well as a practice field for soccer, lacrosse, flag football, etc.
