Eligible applicants are CSUEB students that:

  • Have minimum 2.5 GPA for undergraduate students
  • Have continued full-time enrollment in a degree program in the Fall term following summer participation
  • Are authorized to work in the U.S. (e.g., H-4 visa holders ineligible, F-1s are eligible)
  • Have a major/career interest related to the position applied for
  • Complete two reports after 57/50 hours of service during the internship
  • Assist in advertising CSSP; become Ambassadors and share about their experience

Type of Award:

  • $2000 Internship stipend after completion of 150 summer hours; payment will be disbursed during Fall term following the summer internship
  • $1500 Internship stipend after completion of 100 summer hours; payment will be disbursed during Fall term following the summer internship

Application & Selection Process:

  • You must be a full-time CSUEB Student in good academic standing.
  • You must be in a declared major when you apply and attending full-time in the Fall term following the summer internship.
  • You must be authorized to work in the US; international students, if you have any questions check with CIE.
  • You must relate your interest in an internship to your major and or career interest
  • Attend an information session starting in January 2021 (visit calendar)
  • Complete CSSP Application Here by February 5, 2021
  • If selected, must attend interview February 10-19 (Date to be scheduled)
  • Interview with possible placement site from February - March (Date to be scheduled)
  • Placement confirmation by April 
  • Safety Orientation on Friday May 21st at 10am-12pm via zoom
  • Start May/June - August 

How many awards are given?:

  • 10 internships for 150 hours with stipend of $2000 are available summer 2021.
  • 10 internships for 100 hours with stipend of $1500 are available summer 2021.

CSSP Internship Site Registration Process:

Eligible Employers must be:

  • Be a Non profit with proof of status 
  • Typically Local (East Bay - Hayward/ Oakland/ Concord)  Due to COVID we are accepting remote experiences or a hybrid experience
  • Have industry related experiences that connect to our CSUEB majors and or university mission 

Eligible Employers must commit to:

  • Offer a summer internship experience (June-August)
  • Has industry / major relevance to CSUEB
  • Mentorship
  • Summer Project (lead/develop/assess)
  • Networking opportunity within company (lunch and learn, information interviews with top leadership)
  • Reflection opportunities (weekly 1on1, team meetings, end of summer culminating experience)
  • Mid-summer check in
  • End of summer exit interview / reflection
  • Log of hours / signed by site supervisor   

Employers can apply by completing the: CSSP request for proposals form by November 30, 2020.
