Fields of Study

More than 100 fields of study are offered, including 50 Baccalaureate Degrees, 35 Master's Degrees, 61 minor options, and an Ed. D. in Educational Leadership.

The Lumina Foundation and Syracuse University have called Cal State East Bay's innovative Freshman Learning Communities a "National Model."

High Ratings

In 2012, the Princeton Review rated Cal State East Bay a "Best in the West" college for the ninth consecutive year, and in 2011 included the College of Business and Economics as one of the nation's 300 "Best Business Schools" for the sixth year.

Hispanic College of Choice

Chosen as a "Publisher's Pick" by The Hispanic Outlook in Higher Education for the advancement of Hispanic students.

Individualized Learning

Undergraduate class sizes average 31 students, and have a student-to-faculty ratio of 28:1. Graduate class sizes average 21 students, with a student-to-faculty ratio of 17:1.

International Diversity

California State University, East Bay's worldwide stature has attracted students from 144 nations, giving it the highest percentage of international students at any of the 23 CSU campuses.

MBA Program

Cal State East Bay is home to the largest California State University MBA program in the Bay Area (East Bay Business Times).

Nursing Program

Cal State East Bay offers an accredited pre–licensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree (BSN) program at the Concord campus, supported in part by a $1.7 million grant from John Muir Health.

Online Learning

Through an innovative online campus, Cal State East Bay offers bachelor's and master's degrees, making the University the CSU system's e-learning leader.

Sponsored Research

In the 2010-11 academic year, Cal State East Bay faculty were awarded more than $11.2 million in sponsored project contracts and grants for academic research.

Teacher Training

California State University, East Bay is a regional leader in Teacher Education, producing an estimated 2% of the state's credentialed teachers. Cal State East Bay also produces more math and science teachers than any other CSU.
