Cost, Financial Aid and Fee Waivers
Each Early Start course costs $191 plus a fee of $1 for Health Facilities and $1 for the student union at each campus enrolled. There also may be costs associated with course materials and parking. At CSUEB there is a fee (typically less than $40) associated with the online Early Start Math course for access to the ALEKS system.
Fees can be paid by:
Online: Pay through MyCSUEB using a credit card or electronic check.
In Person: You may pay fees in person with check, money order, cashier's check, or cash at either of the Cashier's offices listed below. Credit cards are not accepted at the Cashier's office.

- Concord Campus: Cashier's Office in the Academic Services Building, Cal State East Bay, 4700 Ygnacio Valley Rd., Concord
By Mail: When paying fees by mail, be sure to include your full name and NetID number. Send your fees to the following address:

Financial Aid and Early Start Fee Waiver
Assistance for some Financial Aid students is available in the form of an Early Start Fee Waiver. California residents who apply for financial aid and have an Estimated Family Contribution of $6,000 or less will automatically be eligible for a waiver of the $191 fee. The fee waiver does not include instructional materials or costs associated with parking. This waiver will automatically be applied to the course fee.
Refunds
If enrolled in an Early Start class, paid the fee, and unable to attend during that session, please go back into CSUEB and update enrollment to another class session. If you are no longer required to participate in the Early Start program and wish to receive a refund, be sure to drop the class in My CSUEB no later than the Thursday before the first day of instruction. If your admission status changes during the program and you will no longer attend CSUEB, consult the Early Start office at earlystart@csueastbay.edu.
