CSU Local Admission Area for New Freshmen and Transfers
Freshmen Requirements
All California resident applicants, regardless of location, must fully meet the CSU first-time freshmen admission requirements, the California Resident Eligibility Index, and adhere to all posted admission deadlines. A GPA of 3.0 and above qualifies for admission with any score; however, all first time freshmen applicants are encouraged to submit SAT or ACT test scores. The minimum GPA to qualify for admission is a 2.0.
GPAs are based on grades earned in courses taken during the final three years of high school. Included in the calculation of GPA are grades earned in all college preparatory ("a-g" subject requirements) and bonus points for approved honors courses. The CSU Mentor GPA Calculator is a useful tool to ensure you correctly calculate your GPA.
The admission requirements do not change for California non-local admission area applicants.
Non-California resident applicants must meet the Non-Resident CSU Eligibility Index. A GPA of 3.61 and above qualifies for admission with any score; however, all first time freshmen applicants are encouraged to submit SAT or ACT test scores. The minimum GPA to qualify for admission is a 2.45.
