START-IT-UP! Launch Event




Smith Center and the UP! Club are excited to introduce their very first event in the START-IT-UP! series, the LAUNCH DAY! Starting with Launch day held on Oct 18th, 2019, this was the opening of an entrepreneurial workshop series leading to the final Pitch event on Nov 22nd.

UP! Club Team Support & Start-Up Submission Workshop

Friday, November 8th
5:00PM - 9:00PM

  • Teams will submit their start-up idea by November 10th, those who will be picked to pitch at Pitch Day will know by November 13th. 


Presentation Workshop

Friday, November 15th
5:00PM - 9:00PM

  • Faculty and special guest will mentor the chosen teams to finalize their presentation and prototypes to present at the Pitch Day event. 


Pitch Day

Friday, November 22nd
5:00PM - 9:00PM

  • This is where the selected start-up teams will present their start-up idea to a panel of judges, consisting of CEO, VC’s, and Entrepreneurs. Teams will be required to present presentation slides, and a poster board/prototype of their idea. All workshops leading to event will navigate and prepare teams to pitch their ideas. 


Problem Identification Workshop

Friday, October 25th

  • Faculty and guest speaker supported and guided teams in identifying the “problem” for their start-up idea. Teams will work together, set tasks, and collaborate roles.

Solutions and Opportunity Workshop

Friday, November 1st

  • Faculty and guest speaker continued from the identification of problem workshop and begin with the “solutions” and opportunities for the start-up ideas.
