Start in Fall 2020 or defer to Spring 2021

You have three options:

Option 1: Start your program in Fall 2020 remotely outside the U.S. This means you can start your program while you are in your home country. You should check the Fall schedule to determine the times and dates of classes.  Some classes may be offered asynchronously, meaning that there are no certain times or dates that you must meet, this is noted in the schedule. There is no minimum unit requirement so you can decide how many classes you want to take. You will still need to receive a new I-20 for Spring 2021. Please complete the Fall Enrollment Form for this option

Option 2: Defer your admission to Spring 2021. Please complete the IAO Deferral Form indicating you are selecting this option. The deadline to submit the form is August 14th, 2020. If you have received an I-20 for Fall 2020, the International Programs office will send you an updated I-20 for Spring 2021.

Option 3: Defer your admission to Spring 2021, and take online classes through the Open University in Fall 2020. This option is available for new international undergraduate students. Open University gives individuals the opportunities to take college level courses with available seats at a discounted rate ($350 per unit for undergraduate level courses).  The units you take through the Open University may be used to satisfy your degree requirement. This option is only available to students who are overseas during Fall 2020 and defer admission to Spring 2021. Please indicate this option on your IAO Deferral Form.
