Beyond the Chalk: Guest Lecture Series
The Beyond the Chalk Guest Lecture Series provides the opportunity for faculty, staff and students to submit proposals requesting funds to bring social justice focused speakers to Cal State East Bay. This is a great opportunity to expand co-curricular programs and to further enhance the university's mission by creating culturally relevant learning opportunities for our students.
The Beyond the Chalk Guest Lecture Series sponsored by the Diversity and Inclusion Student Center, is rooted in educating the CSU East Bay community on issues of social justice and activism. The yearlong series reflects the diverse student body of Cal State East Bay, promotes social consciousness, and a deeper understanding of the complex issues in our society as they relate to marginalized communities.
- Folks are allowed to submit more than one proposal and multiple proposals may be funded.
- Average award for proposed lectures will not exceed $3,000.
- Guest lectures may be tied directly to a class, but must take place in a larger programming space and open to the greater campus community (i.e. MPR, UU 102 etc)
