With the new cell phone policy staff and faculty can purchase any cell phone they want. If you need assistance setting up your new smart phone please contact the vendor with the following information which should be all they need to help you set up your CSUEB email and calendar account on their smart phone:

  • Email and username: firstname.lastname@csueastbay.edu (please put your first and last name)
  • IMAP server
  • SMTP server

For your convenience we have provided instructions to sync your mobile phone with Google Apps but you need to contact your mobile phone vendor for additional assistance.

Get Mail, Contacts, and Calendar on Windows Mobile

Set up your Windows Mobile phone with Google Sync to access your Google Apps mail, contacts and calendars from your phone's native applications.

Step 1: Remove previous Account Setup On Your Windows Mobile Phone

NOTE: Skip this step and go to Step 2 if you do not have a current account setup.

  1. Go to Start>Select Programs>Select Active Sync
  2. Go to Menu>Select Options>
  3. Select ‘Delete’ Exchange Server>Select Yes

This should remove your existing Exchange (Campus) account.

Step 1: Remove previous Account Setup on your iPhone

Note: skip this step and go to Step 2 if you do not have a current account or the phone is brand new.

  1. Turn on your iPhone
  2. Go to 'Settings'
  3. Go to 'Mail, Contacts, Calendars'
  4. Click on the 'Exchange Account'
  5. Scroll towards the bottom and click on "Delete Account"

Use Google Talk on your iPhone

Point your iPhone's browser to: google talk. Then chat with your Google Talk contacts directly from your iPhone.
