The Health Sciences degree program is one of the largest and the fastest growing program at Cal State East Bay. It is an applied science that focuses on knowledge and skills necessary to practice in both clinical and population health settings. Students in our Health Sciences program prepare for careers in healthcare administration and policy, public health or prepare for further training in technical or professional clinical programs. Health sciences is an interdisciplinary field that focuses on the application of physical, biological, and social sciences to understand and to improve health in human beings.

Did you know?
John Snow was an English physician and is considered one of the fathers of modern epidemiology. He is most famous for determining that Cholera was a water-borne disease and for demonstrating the power of the prevention perspective. In the 1854 Cholera outbreak in London, using mapping techniques, he was able to identify the likely source of the infection: the Broad Street pump. He removed the pump handle all but ending the outbreak.
