Dave A. Muela - Adjunct Faculty

Dave is a native Californian and is the proud father of three adult children: Jared, Chelsea and Tyler and grandfather of four beautiful grandchildren: Tanner, Beau, Ryder and Zoe. In his leisure time, Dave enjoys running, cycling, fishing, wakeboarding, dog training and spending time with his grandchildren.

 He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Recreation Administration and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration both from CSUEB (formerly California State University, Hayward). Prior to his appointment at CSUEB in January 2014, Dave taught part time at the undergraduate and graduate level at San Francisco State and San Jose State. He is an active member of the California Parks and Recreation Society and an honorary member of the Sports Association of Northern California Recreation Agencies and is recognized as a “Registered Recreator” by the California Board of Park and Recreation Personnel.

Dave’s professional career spans some 35 years in local government, the last 20 as the Community Services Director for the City of Mountain View up until his retirement in 2011.  During his tenure the department was recognized at both the state and national level by the California Parks and Recreation Society, American Public Works Association and the American Society of Landscape Architects for its award winning parks and recreation programs.  Prior to his appointment in Mountain View he was the Director of Parks and Leisure Services for the City of Milpitas for 11 years.
