Dr. Elizabeth Friedmann
Elizabeth (Betsey) Friedmann is a Lecturer in the HRT Department. She is the hospitality internship advisor and teaches general education courses including REC 300 (Wellness through Leisure) and REC 310 (Women and Leisure). She holds a Ph.D. in Education from the University of California, Davis in addition to a Master’s in Recreation and Tourism and a Master’s in Education from CSU East Bay, and a B.A. in Economics from UC Berkeley. Betsey’s previous work in the hospitality industry includes the Hotel Durant in Berkeley, the development office of Joie de Vivre Hospitality, and special events with Thomas John Events. As a lifelong Cal fan, Betsey continues to hope that the Bears will one day return to the Rose Bowl.
