Taking Time for Yourself is about encouraging students to take care of their mental health and providing resources to help manage stress. This key message aims to:
  1. Increase knowledge and confidence to engage in self-care strategies,
  2. Increase likelihood to engage more frequently in self-care techniques.

Pause for PAWS

Around finals time, students tend to get very stressed so the Pause for PAWS event brings in therapy dogs to campus and features tabling activities relating to wellness. Dates and times TBA. 

SMART Goal Workshops

A SMART goal is a goal that is specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-based. Join our SMART goal workshops to learn how you can set goals for yourself on sleep, stress, fitness, nutrition, and more! Fall semester dates and times TBA.

Relaxation Room

The Relaxation Room serves as a safe, zen space for students to destress in a quiet environment. It is in the wellness lounge and includes dim light and peaceful music for students to enjoy. 

Counseling Services

Student Health and Counseling Services (SHCS) is a fully accredited outpatient clinic staffed by Board Certified Physicians, and licensed Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, and Counselors. SHCS offers basic medical care for most illnesses and injuries and various elective services, and is currently providing telehealth appointments by Zoom and phone. Self-Care

One way to destress from strenuous activities such as school or work is to relax and take time for yourself by doing the things that bring you joy. Some people find this in face masks, baths, music, yoga, sleep, cleaning, and other activities that take your mind off the busy day-to-day work and school life. 

Treat Yourself

Getting away from work or school can be another great way to take time for yourself. Treating yourself to your favorite restaurant or just walking around your communty park can help re-energize your body and mind.

Turn Off Electronics

Turning off all your electronic devices and spending time with yourself is a great way to spend time with yourself. Reading a book, going on a hike, and meditating are great ways to disconnect from school and work.
