Want to Be A Teacher?

What Makes TED Unique?

MULTIPLE AND SINGLE SUBJECT PROGRAMS

Want to teach in an elementary school? Then apply for our multiple subject program! Want to teach Art, English, History, Math, Music, Physical Education, the Sciences, or World Languages? Then apply for our single subject program!

EXPERIENCED FACULTY

Our faculty members are recognized across the state and nation as leaders in their fields. In addition to their research to improve the preparation of teachers, our faculty are committed to being exemplary teachers and role models for our students.

MASTERS’ PATHWAYS

Upon completion of the credential program, it is easy to enter into a one-year Masters’ degree program in Reading, Early Childhood, Educational Technology, or Curriculum.

COHORT MODEL

Students go through the program in teams or cohorts, building a collaborative and supportive learning community. Graduates report this as one of the program's strengths.

DISTRICT PARTNERSHIPS

Our faculty members collaborate with our PK-12 district partners on professional development, grants, and research providing strong connections between course work and fieldwork.

FIELD EXPERIENCE

Our teachers complete their field experience in a wide variety of local settings that are selected as supportive learning environments and convenient for the student. Frequently these field experiences lead to job offers and employment immediately upon completion of the program.

50 Years Teaching Teachers

We prepare teachers who are dedicated to the academic achievement of all students and who demonstrate a commitment to life-long, professional growth and school leadership. The Department of Teacher Education offers post-baccalaureate and graduate programs to prepare teachers who are committed to improving school practices for California's diverse student populations and who can model such practices in their own classrooms.
